Sacraments of Christian Initiation

"The sacraments of Christian initiation - Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist - lay the foundations of every Christian life. "The sharing in the divine nature given to men through the grace of Christ bears a certain likeness to the origin, development, and nourishing of natural life. The faithful are born anew by Baptism, strengthened by the sacrament of Confirmation, and receive in the Eucharist the food of eternal life. By means of these sacraments of Christian initiation, they thus receive in increasing measure the treasures of the divine life and advance toward the perfection of charity." (CCC 1212)

Elementary Religious Education: 2nd & 3rd Grade Sacraments

The Elementary Religious Education program is for families with children in grades PreK to 5th grade who attend a public school, private/charter (non-Catholic) school, or is home-schooled, including children with special needs or circumstances.

Your child must be registered in the 2nd or 3rd grade Elementary Religious Education program or attend 2nd or 3rd grade at STCS to receive these sacraments.

For STCS students, sacrament preparation will take place in the classroom for:

  • Reconciliation (2nd Grade)
  • Confirmation and First Eucharist (3rd Grade)

While prep will happen at school, students must still register with the parish. Sacrament "catch-up" is available through the parish as well. For more information, please contact Rita Laguna at rlaguna@stphx.org.
