School Advisory Board

The generous commitment that the members have for their school and the parish community is recognized and valued as an integral part of the ministry of Catholic education.

An important element in developing this community climate is the collaborative leadership of parents with the pastor and principal in the operation of the local school advisory board. Each has a specific role and commensurate responsibility in developing the school’s programs, policies, and procedures.

The SAB Member's roles are to:

  • Follow policies and administrative procedures of the Diocese of Phoenix and the Catholic Schools Office
  • Use their talents, gifts and insights for the common good of the community
  • Promote the mission and goals of Catholic education. 
  • Defer their personal agendas in order to discern with other members to meet educational needs of the students.
  • Accept the conditions of membership on the school advisory board,
  • Model the faith community to its constituents
  • Promote respect between and among each other
  • Understand that they are part of the parish community and that the school is a vital part of the parish community
  • Be a public relations agent of the school
