Saint Theresa Catholic School is proud to offer additional resources to our students. The following academic resources are available to students K-8:
Reading Fluency Program
The Fluency Program provides supplemental instruction for students who demonstrate a need for additional reading support through the use of Read Naturally Live. This is a structured intervention program that combines teacher modeling, repeated reading, and progress monitoring — three strategies that research has shown are effective in improving students' reading proficiency. It is a web-based program that engages students with high-interest material at their skill level to support fluency, phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension. This is an After-School Program and there is an additional cost for this service.
Title I Reading Program
Title I is a federal program that provides supplemental instruction for students who demonstrate educational need and who live within a school attendance area that has been designated as a Title I school by the public school district. Title 1 must be directed toward students who are not meeting state academic standards. These students have demonstrated the greatest academic need and exhibit factors that place them at risk for failure. The Consortium provides these students with instruction in reading, writing and vocabulary development.
Peer Tutoring is available from the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS).
Study Hall is a service offered to those students in Grades 3 through 8, Monday through Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Study Hall is a one hour session in which the students will have a quiet work environment and are expected to abide by the school rules stated in the Student/Parent Handbook. Students will be released from the classroom at 4:00 p.m. and parents are responsible for each child’s prompt pickup. Study Hall is $5.00 per session and will be billed via the FACTS tuition account. Students must have the Homework Study Hall Registration Form completed before attending.
