St. Theresa Catholic School

Standards & Benchmarks

The 2012 document National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools (NSBECS) – a collaborative work of the National Catholic Education Association, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Loyola University in Chicago and the Center for Catholic School Effectiveness – contains nine Defining Characteristics of Catholic schools based in Church teachings, thirteen Standards, and seventy Benchmarks.  Together, they describe what it means to be a Catholic school, and how the most mission-driven, program effective, well managed and responsibly governed Catholic schools operate.   These standards and benchmarks serve as the template by which St. Theresa Catholic School continues to grow as a school of excellence.
